Forge Motorsport oil cooler for Audi RS4 B7 4.2

The kit is designed as a solution to the weak point of the original oil cooler. The cooler fitted to the vehicle by Audi is made from aluminium, while the fittings at the ends of the cooler hoses are made from steel. These different metals eventually cause corrosion, which makes the fittings crack and oil slowly begin to leak. The leak worsens over the years and, in extreme cases, can lead to catastrophic failure of the oil cooler hose and even the engine.

Due to corrosion, it is usually not possible to remove the hoses from the oil cooler without damaging it. Therefore, with the original solution, the oil cooler and both hoses must be replaced.

The Forge Motorsport kit is a complete replacement that starts at the connection on the engine block. This is precision-made from 6082 billet aluminium and then anodised, preventing the possibility of corrosion.

The connection leads to black anodised aluminium -12 AN Hose Technik fittings, connected by Hose Technik braided hoses with a black outer braid.

Cooling is provided by a black 19-row Setrab oil cooler. Setrab is a manufacturer that also supplies coolers to Audi and several Formula 1 teams. All connecting parts are made from similar materials tested in motorsport, reducing the risk of fitting corrosion after many years of use.

The cooler is mounted on a laser-cut and powder-coated frame, which also serves as a mount for Audi’s fan control module. The black finish allows for discreet installation that is almost unnoticeable.

The kit was originally developed to eliminate problematic original Audi components. As the cooler is mounted slightly higher than with the original solution, the possibility of damage from stones and other road debris is also reduced.

The kit includes all parts required for installation: bolts, nuts, washers, brackets and detailed instructions. Due to the oil lost when removing the old cooler and filling the new cooler and hoses, you will need up to an additional 2 l of engine oil.

The kit is intended for the Audi RS4 B7 4.2, model years 2006–2008.
