The Forge Motorsport oil cooler kit for Fiat 500/595/695 uses a purpose-built cooler with a large core measuring 165 (w) × 200 (h) × 47 mm (d). It is designed for precise installation in the original intercooler position on Fiat vehicles.
The cooler is installed directly in the airflow. Correct installation requires the oil to enter through the upper fitting and exit through the lower fitting, preventing the possibility of cavitation in the cooler.
Important: The kit is designed for use together with the Forge Motorsport FMINT500 front intercooler. It is not compatible with the original intercooler. Forge Motorsport does not confirm compatibility with intercoolers from other manufacturers.
The oil filter housing on modern Fiat engines does not allow the use of conventional sandwich plates beneath the filter to route oil to a separately mounted cooler. Instead, a liquid-cooled oil cooling block is installed at the front of the engine, making the installation of an additional oil cooler more challenging.
On modified vehicles or during demanding driving, oil temperature can quickly exceed 120 °C (250 °F), which is close to the range where engine oil starts to lose its properties. The kit therefore enables more efficient heat dissipation during more demanding vehicle use.
Forge Motorsport has developed a CNC-machined adapter made from billet material, which replaces the original liquid-cooled oil cooling block. The adapter still allows coolant to circulate while providing two AN-10 fittings for connecting the supplied oil hoses between the cooler and the engine oil galleries.
The kit uses the original intercooler air guides, ensuring efficient airflow through the cooler. It is suitable for fast road and racing use, but exclusively in combination with the Forge Motorsport FMINT500 front intercooler.
