Forge Motorsport recirculation valve for BMW 1 F20/F21 M135i

We recommend servicing the valve every 3 years or 20,000 miles – whichever comes first.

This quiet recirculation valve is designed for BMW 135/235 N55 3.0 Turbo engines in F20 chassis models that use electronically controlled bypass valves. It is recommended for vehicles with increased boost pressure due to an ECU software upgrade, as well as standard vehicles operating in warmer climates, as it eliminates issues caused by failures of the original valve.

Failure of the original valve does not always trigger the engine warning light, as boost pressure may still open it. The driver may therefore not notice a loss of power. As a result, the diaphragm can no longer seal properly. During removal, the valve can also fall apart in certain cases, and in extreme cases plastic fragments can enter the turbocharger and cause serious damage.

Forge Motorsport has developed a more reliable solution with a piston mechanism without a diaphragm that could fail. The valve is made entirely from aluminium and replaces the original part with a pressure- or vacuum-controlled piston valve, while retaining the desired OEM opening control via the ECU.

The kit includes:

• 1 × FMDVF20R valve
• 1 × 3,000 mm vacuum hose with a diameter of 4 mm
• 1 × 100 mm vacuum hose with a diameter of 6 mm
• 1 × 50 mm vacuum hose with a diameter of 6 mm
• 1 × solenoid, bracket and bolts
• 10 × cable ties
• 1 × reinforced blue spring
• 1 × 8-4-8 T-piece
• 1 × Forge instructions on a USB flash drive
• 1 × Forge keyring and sticker
