We recommend servicing the valve every 3 years or 20,000 miles, whichever comes first.
This blow-off valve (also known as a dump valve) is intended for BMW N20 2.0 Turbo engines with an electronically controlled diverter valve. The engine is fitted in vehicles with F10, F20 and F30 chassis codes and the 125i, 225i, 220i, 228i, 320i, 328i, 520i and 528i designations. It is recommended for vehicles with increased boost pressure due to an ECU software upgrade, as well as for standard vehicles operating in warmer climates.
The valve is a replacement solution for common failures of the original rubber diaphragm valve. When the diaphragm ruptures, boost pressure is lost. The failure does not always trigger the engine warning light, as the boost pressure can still open the valve, so you may not notice any loss of performance.
The Forge Motorsport valve has a piston design without a diaphragm that could fail and is made entirely from aluminium. It replaces the original assembly with a pressure- or vacuum-operated piston valve while retaining the desired factory control of valve opening via the ECU.
Important: this valve is not suitable for B38, B48 and B58 engines.
Suitable for: BMW 1 II (F20/F21), BMW 2 I (F22/F23/F45/F46/F87), BMW 3 VI (F30/F31/F34/F80), BMW 5 VI (F10/F11).
