GFB VTA T9430 – distinctive blow-off valve sound, tool-free installation
A blow-off valve developed specifically for newer Audi, VW, Škoda and SEAT models with 1.2 and 1.4 TSI engines.
These engines are factory-fitted without any type of diverter valve, so compressor surge occurs every time the throttle closes after boost.
The intake system is acoustically tuned to reduce the characteristic crackling sound of compressor surge, but it does not eliminate the effects of pressure pulses. Diverter and blow-off valves were originally developed specifically to eliminate these effects.
GFB VTA reintroduces a blow-off valve into the 1.2/1.4 TSI system, eliminating compressor surge and helping to protect the turbocharger. When the throttle closes, it also creates a distinctive air release sound.
As these engines do not have a MAF sensor, there is no risk of drivability problems or incorrect fuel metering.
The VTA is installed directly in the turbocharger boost pipes. A short plastic connector is replaced by a CNC-machined aluminium section onto which the VTA is fitted. The kit also includes a T-piece for boost pressure and a vacuum hose, which attaches to one of the intake manifold’s vacuum ports and provides a vacuum signal for the valve.
The complete kit can be installed in a few minutes without using tools.
Key features:
- Atmospheric air release for a distinctive blow-off sound
- Simple direct installation; the kit contains everything required for fitting
- Made in Australia in accordance with ISO 9001
