The GFB EX38 has a 38 mm valve and is supplied as standard with a 10 psi spring. With additional 5 psi, 7 psi and 10 psi springs, different combinations can be used to set a base boost pressure of 5, 7, 10, 12, 15, 17 or 22 psi*.
At just 93 mm high, the EX38 is shorter than the closest competing products. The internal diameter of the inlet flange has a tapered inlet, helping provide a smoother transition from the exhaust pipe into the valve, while the internal seat diameter is larger than that of other wastegates of the same size, allowing greater flow.
The EX38 is directly compatible with TiAl MV-S flanges, so it can be used on turbo kits designed for TiAl wastegates.
With external wastegates, both high flow and compact dimensions are important. GFB offers one of the most compact ranges of external wastegates in its class – with a lower height than the closest competing products and no reduction in flow.
All GFB wastegates feature a cast housing made from 253MA chrome-nickel stainless steel, a CNC-machined solid stainless steel valve, and fully stainless steel weld-on connections and mounting hardware. The diaphragm is made from Nomex fibre-reinforced silicone. This construction is designed to provide reliable operation even under extreme conditions.
