The WGA is a high-performance internal wastegate actuator designed to improve boost pressure control on turbochargers with an internal wastegate. Due to its significantly larger diaphragm surface compared with the original actuator, the WGA provides greater control over the wastegate flap. Exhaust back pressure therefore has more difficulty moving the flap from its set position, providing more stable and reliable boost pressure control.
Three springs and a unique preload adjustment with an adjustable connecting rod are included. The base boost pressure can be set and adjusted from 5 psi to 24 psi for the best possible boost pressure control.
The WGA has a longer travel, lower construction height and more adjustment options than comparable products.
Part number 7302 is designed for direct installation on EVO 9 models with the factory turbocharger. 10 psi and 7 psi springs are installed, providing a base pressure of 17 psi. A 5 psi spring is also included in the packaging for additional adjustment options.
Although this is a direct physical fit, the product should be treated as a tuning device. It will increase boost pressure, so suitable engine tuning is mandatory after installation.
