The WGA is a high-performance internal wastegate actuator designed to improve boost pressure control on turbochargers with an internal wastegate valve. Due to its significantly larger diaphragm surface area than the standard actuator, the WGA provides greater control over the wastegate valve flap. Exhaust back pressure therefore has more difficulty changing its position, enabling more stable and reliable boost pressure control.
It includes 3 springs and a special adjustable preload setting with an adjustable coupler, allowing the base boost pressure to be set between 5psi and 24psi for the best possible boost pressure control.
The WGA has a longer stroke, lower height and more adjustment options than comparable products.
The WGA actuator with part number 7304 is designed for direct installation in 1997–2007 Subaru WRX models equipped with a factory TD04 turbocharger. The 5psi and 7psi springs are installed, providing a base pressure of 12psi, while the 10psi spring is included for additional adjustment options.
Important: Although this is a physically direct installation, the product must be treated as a tuning aid. The actuator will increase boost pressure, so engine calibration or tuning is essential after installation.
