HF-Series intercooler for Audi TT 8N 1.8T 225 PS

This upgraded intercooler kit for Audi TT 8N models with 225 PS is a highlight of the HF-Series range. The high-quality HFT core offers excellent cooling performance, even under demanding conditions, while also being highly robust. The entire system is designed for optimum flow. This means minimal pressure loss, while the complete charge-air path was developed using CAD flow analyses. This also applies to the intercooler end tanks, which are made from high-strength cast aluminium.

What exactly does an upgraded intercooler provide?

To express the exact power increase in figures, many unknown factors must be taken into account, such as factory power variation, other hardware modifications and the software used during measurement. This differs from vehicle to vehicle. As a rule of thumb for tuned engines, an increase of up to 5–10% may be expected.

At least as important is the fact that, at high outside temperatures, the upgraded intercooler prevents a loss of power or the activation of the temperature protection stored in many engine control units. This allows the engine to maintain its full performance even under demanding conditions.

Recommendation

We recommend using HF-Series intercoolers in combination with hardware and software optimisation. Reducing back pressure, which relieves the turbocharger, and cooling the charge air, which increases the oxygen content in the combustion chamber and reduces thermal load, allows the potential of any turbocharged engine to be used efficiently.

When carrying out hardware or software tuning, charge-pressure loss must not be overlooked. If vehicle power is increased through chip tuning, charge pressure is also increased in 99% of cases. Using the standard intercooler causes charge-pressure loss to rise exponentially. The turbocharger must therefore work harder, increasing its thermal load and reducing its service life, or causing faster wear due to higher rotational speeds. Our HF-Series intercoolers create the ideal balance between cooling performance and charge-pressure loss.

Road use: The kit includes a parts certificate for registration under §19.3. Before registration, check that the specific configuration complies with the requirements applicable to your vehicle.
