This intercooler kit for the Opel GT is a highlight of the HF-Series range. The high-quality HFT core provides excellent cooling performance, delivering strong performance even under demanding conditions while remaining highly robust. It offers high resistance and heats up less than comparable cores from other manufacturers.
The entire system is also designed for optimum flow. This means minimal pressure loss, while the complete charge-air path was developed using CAD flow analyses. The intercooler tanks are also made from high-strength cast aluminium.
The advantages of this product are:
- significantly cooler charge air, improving engine combustion,
- quicker engine response,
- improved flow.
This product is therefore suitable for both standard power and motorsport applications, as substantially higher power outputs are also possible. Each intercooler was built for the relevant vehicle, calculated using flow simulations and tested on a power dynamometer.
Road use: The system includes a parts certificate allowing the conversion to be registered under §19.3.

What does an upgraded intercooler provide?
Expressing the exact power increase provided by an intercooler in figures requires many unknown factors to be considered, including factory power variation, other hardware changes and the software used during measurement. This differs from vehicle to vehicle. As a rule of thumb for tuned engines, an increase of up to 5–10 % can be expected.
What is at least as important is that, at high outside temperatures, you prevent a loss of power or even activation of the temperature protection stored in many control units. This allows you to rely on the engine’s full power, whether it has already been software-tuned or is to remain standard.
Recommendation
We recommend using HF-Series intercoolers in combination with hardware and software optimisation. Reducing back pressure, thereby relieving the turbocharger, and cooling the charge air, which increases the oxygen content in the combustion chamber and reduces thermal load, allows the potential of any turbocharged engine to be used efficiently.
When carrying out hardware or software tuning, charge-air pressure loss must not be overlooked. Increasing engine power through chip tuning also increases boost pressure in 99% of cases. With the standard intercooler, charge-air pressure loss rises exponentially. The turbocharger must therefore work harder, increasing its thermal load and shortening its service life; high rotational speeds also accelerate wear.
Our HF-Series intercoolers create the ideal balance between cooling performance and charge-air pressure loss.
Suitable for: Opel GT I (M07).
