HF-Series intercooler kit for Citroën DS3/DS3 R and Peugeot 208 1.6L

This upgraded intercooler for the Citroën DS3/DS3 R and Peugeot 208 is a standout product from the HF-Series range. The high-quality HFRS core provides excellent cooling performance, delivering strong performance even in demanding conditions while remaining highly robust. The complete system is designed for optimum flow. This means minimal pressure loss, while the entire charge-air path has been developed using CAD flow analysis. The end tanks are also included in this design and are made from high-strength cast aluminium.

What does an upgraded intercooler provide?

Expressing the exact power increase in figures requires many unknown factors to be considered, such as factory power variation, other hardware changes and the software used during testing. Results vary from vehicle to vehicle. As a general guide for engines with increased power, an improvement of up to 5–10% may be expected.

At least as important is the fact that, at high ambient temperatures, the intercooler helps prevent power loss or the activation of the temperature protection stored in many engine control units. This allows you to rely on the engine’s full power, whether it has already been software-tuned or remains standard in software terms.

Recommendation: Use the HF-Series intercooler together with hardware and software optimisation. Reducing back pressure, which relieves the turbocharger, and cooling the charge air, which increases the oxygen content in the combustion chamber and reduces thermal load, allows the potential of any turbocharged engine to be used efficiently.

Road use: A parts certificate (Teilegutachten) is included for registering the modification under §19.3.
