HF-Series universal intercooler – tuning at the highest level
Our HF-Series universal intercoolers are made entirely by hand and feature flow-optimised cast end tanks developed using CAD. Combined with high-performance HFT cores, they offer maximum efficiency, whether used on standard vehicles or in motorsport.
What exactly does an upgraded intercooler provide?
It is not possible to express the exact power increase provided by an intercooler in figures without considering many unknown factors, such as factory power variation, further hardware modifications and the software used during measurement. This varies from vehicle to vehicle. As a rule of thumb, tuned engines can achieve up to 5–10% more power.
At least equally important is the fact that, whether the engine has already been optimised or is to remain standard in terms of software, you can prevent a loss of performance at high ambient temperatures or even the activation of the temperature protection stored in many control units. This allows you to rely on the engine’s full performance at all times.
Key benefits:
- Significantly cooler charge air for improved combustion and power delivery
- Noticeably earlier turbocharger response
- Reduced boost pressure loss for longer turbocharger service life
- Optimal flow through precise flow simulations
- Designed to fit many vehicles, with easy installation without modifications
This makes the product suitable for both standard-power applications and motorsport, as substantially higher power outputs are also possible. Each intercooler is built for the relevant vehicle, calculated using flow simulations and tested on an in-house dynamometer.
The intercooler is fitted to the original mounting points of the original OEM intercooler, so no major modifications are required. Installation can be carried out by the customer using a well-equipped tool kit.
Technical data:
- Overall width including connections: 720 mm
- Core width: 540 mm
- Core height: 230 mm
- Core depth: 76 mm
- Connection diameter: 63 mm
- Net intercooler weight: 8.6 kg
This intercooler is generally supplied with a black coating.
When tuning a vehicle’s hardware or software, boost pressure loss must not be overlooked. If the vehicle’s power is increased through chip tuning, boost pressure is also increased in 99% of cases. Using the standard intercooler causes boost pressure loss to rise exponentially. This means that the turbocharger has to work harder, increasing its thermal load and reducing its service life; higher rotational speeds also accelerate wear.
Our HF-Series intercoolers create the perfect balance between cooling performance and boost pressure loss. HF-Series universal intercoolers are always made by hand and feature CAD-developed cast end tanks manufactured for optimised flow. This intercooler is made with a Bar & Plate core for maximum internal volume and cooling performance.
Suitable for: universal use (not vehicle-specific).
