To achieve favourable, turbulence-free airflow for the intake air, this intake pipe is essential for the 12V VR6. It provides improved response during gear changes and more power. The rigid aluminium pipe prevents the power-sapping collapse of the original intake hose, making it particularly recommended for tuned VR6 engines.
The intake pipe is deliberately longer to provide flexibility in use:
- with optional silicone hoses and fitting materials, it can be adapted to the standard air filter housing; the pipe must be shortened for this,
- with optional silicone hoses and fitting materials, together with an air filter, the pipe does not need to be shortened. Its length is deliberately increased so that the filter can be positioned further forwards in the fresh-air flow, as shown in the images.

Note: Selecting the air filter is only possible in combination with silicone and fitting materials. On vehicles without an idle control valve, the connection must be blanked off.
