Maintenance

Pipercross filters are made from a special multi-layer filter foam with different pore sizes, from coarse to fine. This three-layer foam is very easy to clean. The air filter does not need to be disposed of after use, reducing waste and supporting sustainable use. Pipercross filters contain no oil residue and regain 100% of their original performance after cleaning. Cleaning is quick and straightforward.

Cleaning

One of the key advantages of Pipercross air filters is that, at the same level of contamination, they still provide greater airflow than a cotton or paper filter. Dirt is held by the unique foam surface, allowing fresh intake air to continue flowing through the filter.

We recommend cleaning the filter at the latest every 15,000–20,000 km or once a year. The best time to clean the air filter is around the end of May or in June, after the pollen season, as this is when the filter is generally under the greatest load.

Use a dedicated cleaner for Pipercross filters. Under no circumstances should aggressive cleaners such as cleaning petrol, petroleum-based cleaning solvent or brake cleaner be used, as they may damage the material. A Pipercross filter has no oil-bonded residue and regains 100% of its original performance after quick and simple cleaning.
