Maintenance

Pipercross air filters are made from a special multi-layer filter foam with different pore sizes, from coarse to fine. This three-layer foam is very easy to clean. The air filter no longer needs to be discarded, which reduces waste and makes its use more sustainable. Pipercross filters contain no oil residues and regain 100% of their original performance after cleaning. Cleaning is quick and straightforward.

Cleaning

One of the key advantages of Pipercross air filters is that, at the same level of contamination, they still provide increased airflow compared with a cotton or paper filter. Dirt is retained by the unique foam surface, allowing fresh intake air to continue passing through.

We recommend cleaning the filter after no more than 15,000–20,000 km or once a year. The best time to clean the air filter is around the end of May or in June, after the pollen season, as the filter is subjected to the greatest load after this period.

A special cleaning agent is available for cleaning. Aggressive cleaners such as wash petrol, cleaning petrol or brake cleaner must never be used, as they can damage the material. A Pipercross filter has no oil-bonded residue and regains 100% of its original performance after quick and simple cleaning.
