HG Motorsport turbo outlet and boost pipe kit for VAG 1.8–2.0 TSI EA888 Gen.3

Due to the factory restrictions in the charge-air system between the turbocharger and intercooler, HF-Series has developed a new turbo outlet kit including a boost pipe. The newly designed charge-air system has a larger 60 mm cross-section. The turbo outlet fitted inside the turbocharger is optimised for the best possible airflow and has the same diameter as the boost pipe.

Fitting the new turbo outlet kit with a continuous 60 mm diameter allows charge air to reach the intercooler without turbulence or restriction.

The kit is supplied with the relevant certificate and fitting instructions.

Comparison between the factory and HF-Series versions

• Factory turbo outlet: with resonance chamber
• HF-Series turbo outlet: without resonance chamber, with 60 mm and 50 mm connections
• Factory boost pipe: turbulence and reduction down to 36 mm
• HF-Series boost pipe: 60 mm throughout, without reductions
• Volume flow – factory version: approx. 0.0171 m³/s*
• Volume flow – HF-Series version: approx. 0.0340 m³/s*

If you wish to retain your factory boost pipe but replace the outlet with the optimised HF-Series turbo outlet, a separate turbo outlet is also available.

Aluminium boost pipe from the intercooler to the throttle body

The optionally available aluminium boost pipe from the intercooler to the throttle body for 1.8–2.0 TSI Euro 6 engines on the MQB platform replaces the original hard-plastic part. The larger pipe diameter of 63 mm, with an internal diameter of 60 mm compared with just 53.7 mm for the OEM part, combined with the flow-optimised design and removal of the reinforcing ribs*, provides an increased airflow of 287.9 cfm, measured on a flow bench.

*The reinforcing ribs are used in the OEM pipe to prevent it breaking if the clamps are overtightened.

The factory part consists of a bonded plastic pipe. Over time, temperature and pressure make the material brittle and prone to cracking. This can result in broken connections or split boost pipes, which is not only inconvenient but also a serious risk to the turbocharger and engine.

Our product is resistant to pressure and temperature and has been flow-optimised for earlier engine response, making it suitable for tuned vehicles as well.

The aluminium boost pipe is compatible with the following vehicles and engines when used with the original intercooler hoses or our SF-Hoses silicone hoses:
