Optimised brake disc technology

For this upgrade kit, MOVIT has increased the brake disc diameter and thickness to 370 x 35 mm (RS4 B9: 375 x 36 mm). This significantly increases heat capacity, keeping braking performance consistent during repeated high-load use.

Flow-optimised cross-drilled holes are also used. Each cast hole is drilled and countersunk afterwards to:

• improve the removal of gases and heat,
• reduce material stresses,
• ensure even wear.

The specially developed DDE (Double Directional Evolvent) ventilation system increases the effective cooling surface of the brake disc by up to 80% compared with conventional designs. This significantly reduces temperature peaks, minimises wear and maintains high braking performance over the long term.
