MTS Technik coilovers for BMW 5 (E12) (MTS MTSGWBM97)
MTS Technik coilover suspension with Eibach springs made to MTS specification. Ride height is set on the threads — even at the highest setting the car sits lower than on the standard suspension. Twin-tube gas-oil dampers, polyurethane bump stops, 2-year warranty with no mileage limit.
Street — the default configuration recommended by MTS: a balance between comfort and stiffness and a wide lowering range. For everyday driving with a sportier feel.
Gold or INOX?
- Gold — threaded damper housings made of steel with a double gold zinc coating, anodised aluminium adjusters. The more affordable choice.
- INOX — threaded damper housings made of stainless steel: better corrosion protection, recommended for year-round driving and salted roads.
Springs, lowering and TÜV are the same for Gold and INOX — only the housing material differs.

Important:
- Available for delivery only within the European Union.
- Front and rear axle height adjustable (threaded shock absorber housing).
- If the vehicle is equipped with a stock sport suspension, the lowering mentioned in this catalogue will be relatively lower.
- During the installation of suspension set the clearance between tire/rim and suspension strut shall be checked. The minimum allowed gap is 5mm (0,2 inch). Otherwise use certificated wheel spacers.
- Independent height adjustment at the lower brackets on the front dampers.
- The kit includes 2 upper front camber plates.
- Including M-Technik.
- After the purchase, the original front axle struts should be sent to the headquarters of MTS Technik. Prior to shipment, all elements such as hubs, bearings, covers, shock absorber inserts, bolts and nuts should be dismantled. If the axle struts are delivered without prior disassembly of the above-mentioned parts or if MTS Technik finds any damage, such as broken column bolts, the axle struts will be returned or an additional fee will be charged.
- Suspension compatible only with a rear top mount with an internal diameter of 78mm – OEM number: 33521117657 or 33521126987. It is possible to mount the suspension to cars equipped with other top mounts, but original parts marked with one of the above numbers will be required.
- In the case of cars equipped with Nivo, it will be required to replace the rear top mounts with OEM: 33521117657 or 33521126987.
- After welding the customer-supplied axle struts and MTS Technik coilover suspension, the product is personalized according to the customer’s needs. Thus, the right to withdraw from the conclusion of a distance sales contract is excluded (no possibility of returning the goods).
- The axle struts delivered to us will be cleaned of paint, welded and then secured with zinc. Please provide the original axle struts with the original paint, even if it is in poor condition. Please do not paint the axle struts before shipping!
- Only for vehicles without NIVO / OEM pneumatic suspension.
