The Performance Clutches Stage 4 Sport clutch kit with single-mass flywheel is designed for the BMW E46 M3 platform and drivers who demand maximum drivetrain precision and the fastest possible engine response. The system is designed for demanding competition use, where minimal rotational mass and reliable torque transfer are essential.

The centrepiece of the kit is a lightweight 7.2 kg single-mass flywheel, manufactured from forged 4140 steel with an integrated ring gear. This robust design provides high durability and heat resistance, while significantly reducing rotational mass compared with the original dual-mass system. The lower moment of inertia enables faster rev build-up, sharper throttle response and very quick gear changes – qualities that are essential in racing and drifting.

The cover assembly uses a QT450 steel pressure plate, providing high heat resistance and stable clamping force during prolonged operation at high temperatures and under heavy loads.

A defining feature of the Stage 4 Sport design is the rigid 6-segment ceramic clutch disc. As it has no sprung hub or Marcel damping element, rotational mass is reduced further, contributing to faster engine response and more direct torque transfer. The segmented ceramic design enables immediate engagement, excellent heat resistance and maximum control of slip under extreme loads.

This system is intended exclusively for competition use.
