Racingline bonnet gas strut for Golf VIII petrol models – VWR810002

The Golf VIII is equipped with a basic manual bonnet support rod instead of a gas strut. The Racingline kit upgrades the factory solution with a gas strut that automatically lifts the bonnet and holds it open.

Operation

The gas strut is a pressurised support that takes the weight of the bonnet, smoothly lifts it and holds it in position. Instead of an awkward support rod, the bonnet simply lifts up when checking the oil or working in the engine bay and remains open.

The strut is set to the correct length and pressure for the Golf VIII bonnet, so the bonnet opens and closes with the appropriate resistance. It does not open too quickly and does not feel excessively heavy when closing.

Important installation note

Compatibility

The kit is intended exclusively for Golf VIII and Golf VIII Variant petrol models, including Mk8 and Mk8.5 versions. It is not suitable for diesel versions or other vehicle models.
