The Racingline magnetic sump plug is a simple upgrade that helps protect the engine from wear. Fine ferromagnetic particles are produced while the engine is running and carried through the system by the engine oil. The oil filter captures many of them, but the smallest particles can continue to circulate and eventually contribute to additional wear.
The plug is fitted at the bottom of the sump and uses a powerful magnet to attract and retain iron particles. They remain trapped until the next oil change, when they can simply be wiped clean. The plug is suitable for vehicles using the original sump plug with the part number N91167901.

Installation
Installation is simple and is best carried out during a routine oil change. Drain the oil, remove the original sump plug, fit the Racingline plug with a new sealing washer and tighten it to the torque specified by the vehicle manufacturer. Always use a new sealing washer at every oil change to prevent leaks.
Compatibility
The plug is suitable for a wide range of Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT/Cupra and Škoda models, including the models and engines listed in the compatibility table. It fits, among others, the Volkswagen Golf VIII GTI and R, Audi S3 8Y, Cupra Leon IV, Cupra Formentor, Škoda Octavia IV, Audi TT with the 2.5 RS TFSI engine and the Volkswagen up! GTI, provided they use the OE sump plug N91167901.
The product does not increase engine power or alter driving characteristics, but it is a sensible preventive maintenance upgrade. The magnet also allows a visual inspection of the amount of metal particles carried by the oil until the next service.
