Racingline spring and damper kit for VW Golf V/VI and SEAT Leon II

The Racingline spring and damper kit is a complete, mutually coordinated suspension kit designed to improve the handling of VW Golf V, VW Golf VI and SEAT Leon II vehicles while retaining sufficient comfort for everyday driving. Instead of combining lowering springs with worn original dampers, the kit includes both components, developed to work together.

The factory suspension of these vehicles is a compromise adapted to a wide range of users and cost-effective production. With Racingline springs and dampers fitted, the vehicle gains a more stable and controlled driving feel, along with a moderately lowered ride height that improves handling without making it impractical for everyday use.

How the kit affects the vehicle

• Lowering by 25–30 mm with Racingline lowering springs, which lowers the centre of gravity and reduces the gap between the wheel arch and tyre.
• Coordinated dampers with settings specifically adapted to these springs reduce body roll, brake dive and rear-end squat under acceleration.
• More responsive steering and greater confidence in corners thanks to better control of weight transfer.
• Comfort suitable for everyday driving; the suspension is firmer than the standard setup, but tuned to effectively absorb uneven and damaged roads.
• Direct installation in place of the original components using the factory mounting points.

Why a coordinated kit is important

Fitting lowering springs to standard dampers is one of the most common mistakes when modifying suspension. Factory dampers are tuned for softer springs with longer travel, so when combined with stiffer and shorter springs they often wear out quickly, while body control is not optimal. Because the springs and dampers in this kit were developed as a complete system, the suspension’s operation is predictable from the first drive.

Compatibility

The kit is intended for the Volkswagen Golf Mk5, Volkswagen Golf Mk6 and SEAT Leon Mk2 platforms. It is not suitable for models with four-wheel drive 4WD (4MOTION).
