The vehicle body is subjected to considerable loads during fast driving, mainly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in greater deformation and twisting of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear anti-roll bar helps limit body roll and improve control of loads in corners.
