The vehicle chassis is subjected to significant loads during dynamic driving, mainly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, one side of the vehicle can be subjected to loads up to three times greater than the other due to weight transfer. This causes the chassis to bend and twist, or the bodywork to deform, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis bending and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The mid lower chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of this part of the bodywork.
