The car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest stress while driving. This is particularly evident when the vehicle’s body weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer when cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to a force up to 3 times greater than the other. This causes considerable twisting and deformation of the chassis or body, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This side or other chassis brace is designed to reduce these effects.
