A car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly evident when the body’s weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer while cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to as much as three times more force than the other. This can result in significant chassis flex, as well as deformation and twisting of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This chassis brace is designed to reduce these effects and improve body stiffness.
