The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is significantly affected by the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to loads up to three times greater than the other. This can cause significant flexing and twisting of the chassis or body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Flexing and twisting of the chassis in corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
Ultra Racing fender bars are designed to add rigidity to this area of the body.
