The vehicle chassis is subjected to significant loads during dynamic driving, particularly due to body mass transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in greater deformation and twisting of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The anti-roll bar helps control body roll and improve the vehicle’s behaviour in corners.
