The vehicle’s suspension is the part of the vehicle subjected to the greatest loads due to the driver’s driving style. When cornering quickly, braking heavily or accelerating, weight transfer through the body places particular strain on the suspension.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This creates significant loads and body twisting, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Body twisting and deformation in corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front anti-roll bar helps limit body roll and improves the distribution of loads between the left and right sides of the vehicle.
