In certain situations, weight transfer during cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This results in significant chassis twisting and body deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.

Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
