The chassis is the part of the vehicle that is subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of bodywork mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or intense acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of mass can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to loads up to three times greater than the other. This causes considerable chassis flexing or deformation and torsional twisting of the bodywork, resulting in a loss of tyre grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis when cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This front lower chassis brace is designed to reduce the bending and twisting of the bodywork.
