The vehicle chassis is subjected to significant loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes significant twisting and flexing of the chassis, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps further connect the mounting points and limit unwanted body twisting.
