The vehicle chassis is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
In some cases, the transfer of weight when cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to experience as much as three times more force than the other. This can result in significant twisting and deformation of the chassis or bodywork, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace is designed to reduce unwanted twisting of the front section of the chassis.
