When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can result in increased body twisting and deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation during cornering can also cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
