The vehicle chassis is exposed to high loads during dynamic driving. These loads are caused mainly by the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, hard braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to loads up to three times greater than the other. This results in the body twisting and bending, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower brace helps increase the stiffness of this section of the chassis.
