The Ultra Racing front lower chassis brace for the Mercedes-Benz CLK C209 connects the mounting points on the front section of the suspension and helps limit body twisting during dynamic driving.
The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly pronounced due to the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of mass can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other. This can result in increased chassis twisting, body deformation and loss of tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
