A car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This results in excessive twisting and deformation of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and deformation of the chassis when cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace is designed to increase the stiffness of the front lower section of the chassis.
