The vehicle’s chassis or body is exposed to significant loads while driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When driving through a corner, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other side. This causes the body to bend and twist, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis twisting when driving through corners can lead to poorer handling, such as understeer and oversteer.
