The vehicle’s chassis is exposed to high loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of weight to one side of the vehicle can generate up to three times more force than on the other side. This causes pronounced chassis flex, or deformation and torsional twisting of the body, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The interior chassis brace helps increase body rigidity and limit its flex.
