The car chassis is the part of the vehicle that is subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. Significant loads occur mainly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When weight is transferred in a corner, one side of the vehicle can be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This causes the chassis to bend, deform and twist, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing mid lower chassis brace helps further connect and stiffen the lower part of the body.
