The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is mainly due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of weight to one side of the vehicle can result in up to three times more force being transferred than to the other side. This causes considerable chassis flex or body deformation, which can lead to the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing mid lower brace helps increase chassis stiffness in this area.
