The vehicle chassis is among the parts most affected by driving style. During fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration, the load is influenced primarily by the transfer of body weight.

When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This leads to greater chassis flex or body deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.

Chassis flex and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
