The vehicle chassis is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is especially true due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or intense acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer when cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This causes significant loads, bending and twisting of the chassis or deformation of the bodywork, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The anti-roll bar helps limit body roll and improves the vehicle’s behaviour in corners.
