The car body is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly evident when the body weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
In certain cases, weight transfer in a corner can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This results in significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis in corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
Ultra Racing anti-roll bars help to limit these effects.
