The vehicle body is subjected to significant loads while driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, hard braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can lead to significant body twisting and deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
