The vehicle’s suspension is one of the parts subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident due to body weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer in a corner can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This creates significant loads and body twisting, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Body twisting and deformation when driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
