The vehicle’s chassis or body is exposed to heavy loads during dynamic driving. These loads are mainly caused by the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and hard acceleration.
When driving through a corner, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This results in greater deformation and flexing of the chassis or body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flexing when driving through corners can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
