A car’s chassis is one of the most heavily loaded parts of the vehicle. Its stiffness is particularly affected by the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and sudden acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can lead to significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or bodywork, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing rear lower chassis brace helps increase the stiffness of this area of the bodywork.
