The vehicle’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This can cause significant chassis flex, or deformation and torsion of the body, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace is designed to provide additional support to the lower rear section of the chassis and reduce its flex.
