The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly pronounced due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and sudden acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to as much as three times more force than the other. This can result in considerable twisting and deformation of the chassis or body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and deformation of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps reduce such body deformations.
